German Shepherds
Shadowood German Shepherds are provided fully vaccinated, dewormed and tattooed. All puppies are registered with the German Shepherd Dog Federation of South Africa at the age of 7 weeks.
Shadowood are registered breeders with both the German Shepherd Dog Federation of South Africa and the Kennel Union of South Africa.
Our puppies are brought up on a top quality diet of Royal Canin "Baby Dog" which is specially formulated to ensure best growth and nutrition for puppies under the age of 6 months old.
All our breeding stock are German Shepherd Dog Federation Registered and Graded breeding dogs
All Federation Registered German Shepherd breeding dogs have to meet the following criteria:
- Identified by a permanent tattoo in the right ear
- Must pass an official Hip Dysplasia test approved by the German Shepherd Dog Federation of South Africa
- Must have earned at least a "G" grading or higher in order to qualify as a breeding dog
- Age of at least 20 months for a bitch and 24 months for a dog
- May not be afraid of gun shots and has to pass a basic temperament test
- As of 2001 all GSD's have to undergo DNA profiling before their puppies can be registered to ensure pedigree integrity

Shadowood is a fully registered member of the Shar Pei Club of South Africa. We have been breeding Shar Pei for 11 years. We have imported stock from Russia for our breeding program.
Shadowood is the longest established Shar Pei breeding kennel in South Africa. We are also the preeminent breeders of "BLUE" Shar Pei's. Blue Shar Pei's are one of the rarest and most sought after colours world wide.
We have recently imported a "Chocolate" female from Russia and are in the process of creating a whole new "Chocolate" line of Shar Pei's in this country.
"Chocolate" is the rarest Shar Pei colouring in South Africa.
